Thibaut Devigne Excellent electronica with a bit of an ambiant side. A lot of textures in the sounds employed. The regularity of the pulsation makes it sound like the song of a machine. This is excellent, and I recommend it to all fans of abstract electronic music Favorite track: Smash/Hush.

Inspired by her residencies at Stockholm‘s EMS studios, Kyoka's new EP »SH« might be her most experimental record so far.

The 4 tracks presented on this EP can be described as snapshots having a spontaneous character as they were edited and recorded during various sound checks and performances.

The results are not less typical of Kyoka‘s chaotic sound with unforeseen shifts in beat, unpredicted repetitions and surprising clicks and bops.
The rather slow and gloomy opener »Susurrus« is followed by a somehow dubby and strongly up-tempo track, »Smash/Hush«, that culminates in a repetitive and hypnotic swirl. The B-side, on the other hand, continues with a rather slamming track and is rounded of with »Shush«, a track that loses some speed, but not complexity through its diverse breaks and cuts.

Recorded between 2014 and 2015 in Berlin, Japan, and at EMS, Stockholm; edited during soundchecks and performances at Unit and Liquidroom (Tokyo), Arma17 (Moscow), Plisken Festival (Athens), Volt Festival (Uppsala), and SonarSound (Tokyo).

Rhythms on »Susurrus« and »Soliloquy« created on a Buchla modular synthesizer; rhythms on »Shush«, »Hovering«, and »Smash/Hush« created on a Serge modular synthesizer at EMS, Stockholm.

Vous aviez apprécié le fait de rentrer dans l'esprit dérangé d'un tueur d'enfants avec Doll Doll Doll ? Ça tombe bien (si, si, je vous le promets), Aaron Funk en remet une couche en lui donnant une suite ! Entre la pochette qui cette fois ne joue sur aucun sous-entendu et le remix de "Befriend A Child Killer", Find Candace agresse d'emblée, nous plonge dans l'esprit de quelqu'un qui finit par vriller complètement et veut reproduire dans la réalité des scènes de films d'horreurs ("Find Candace").
